Joe V's comes to Houston

Well it's the grand opening at Joe V's in the southwest Fondren area of Houston

I scoured around a bit and found some fairly good prices on produce:

Bananas 3 lb for $1 roma tomatoes .68 lb etc..

They also carry pareve crust their Hillshire brand for $1.38 and that is good to know about.

Cereals were a solid price big family sized boxes for $3

Kedem Grape Juice for $4.47 64 oz.

Pastas are all kosher but one brand has elbows and some other types that carry a dairy symbol so be aware.

Pastas have a solid price some as low as 2 / $1.00

Perhaps there will be more kosher in the future but they have the typical assortment of kosher
products found in many supermarkets but perhaps a little less as they don't only focus on those items.

Trader Joe's Comes To Houston: Secrets Revealed

Finally one of things I had been missing since leaving NY has come to Houston: Trader Joe's.

They have several locations but the closest being the historic Alabama Theater location on Sheppard.

I had a chance to look around in depth and found some of my favorites but also some other gems:

Kosher Homemade Blintzes : $3.99 not a bad price and figured I'll try them

Kosher Onion Rings $1.99 in the snack aisle and these are dairy but fantastic with a sweet onion flavor

Kosher  Corn Chips (dippers) $1.99 (snack Aisle) these are not as salty as others and are organic 

Pareve Ice Cream  Cherry Chocolate $3.29-great price and the best consistency I've ever had for pareve.

Kosher Salami: $2.99 good price!

Wine:

 Sarah B -Moscato -(it's not listed as a kosher wine but has an OU on the back) $6.49!!

Cabernet and Red Wines are just $4! They are actually all rated as very good wines:

Kroger Specials: 18 Eggs just $1.88 Salmon fillets $4.99 lb New York Bagels (they are great) 5 for $2 Randalls: Large Avocados-$1 Half Gallon milk (Lucerne)- $.99 (digital coupon)

Milk, Yogurts Produce and More!

This week Randalls has specials on milk if you use their special "Just for U" coupons and get .50 off a half gallon = .99 limit is 2. When I used the "just for U" coupons from my mobile phone there was a $3 off $10 of produce (one use only). when I checked out it did not come off but they took it off anyway. Kroger has a fantastic special on oatmeal squares and life cereal only $1.88 a box. they also have nectarines and peaches at .88 a lb and Eggo waffles at $1.88 HEB has 2 cereals for $3 12. oz golden grahams, cocoa puffs, toast crunch etc.. Strawberries at $1.77 a lb Gushers 2 for $2!

Milk and More Sales Ends Today

This week Milk was on sale 2 for $5 at Randalls which ends today.

Kroger has black seedless grapes for $.97 and atlantic Salmon fillets for just $4.99 sale ends today.
Also Kroger has a deal one gallon of free milk when you purchase 4 participating kellog's or keebler products. Kroger also has 5 for $5 2 liter of any coke products.

New Kosher Product @ Randalls

Saw this product today at Randalls and it caught my eye. until now I have never seen this type of spread as kosher before. Now all you garlic lovers have something to celebrate as Randalls introduces kosher garlic spread so one can make their very own garlic bread quite easily. It is dairy however so be aware of that.
